The Potters started this trip knowing that a draw would be a good result. Craig Brown's side were looking for their first win of the season and in front of a good home crowd and against a newly promoted team - Preston fans thought it would be their day.

It wasn't as easy as first thought though. Stoke faught and Andy Cooke scored a header deep into injury time. Potters fans still celebrating the 3-3 result, a lapse at the back caused panic when Cresswell was through on goal, took it round Neil Cutler and into the back of the net from a few yards.

Stoke's other goals were penaltys. Clive Clarke scored a penalty after only 7 minutes putting the potters in front having had to re-take it for some reason.

Preston then had a penalty of their own, and missed but it wasnt long before they did score, this time from a free kick on the right hand side and Healy got on the end of it.

Preston then took the lead after a block deflected into his path - he raced in from the right hand side and blasted into the net from an angle from 10 yards.

Preston then had a lot of chances as they were on top for the rest of the 1st half, hitting the crossbar twice and hitting wide and also forcing a great save from Neil Cutler.

They then made it 3-1, this time Ricardo Fuller in the 60th Minute. He powered through the defence before hitting his shot over Neil Cutler and into the back of the net.

The Spirit of the players shone through and by the 65th minute, Stoke had made it 3-2. A foul in the box saw Clive Clarke up again to net his 2nd of the afternoon.

It was all go then as the potters pressed forward. This paid off in the 94th minute as Stoke hit the goal that made it 3-3. Andy Cooke heading at the near post from a Kris Commons corner.

Fans we're still celebrating and the players were feeling damn happy with themselves when Richard Cresswell was found with the defence asleep and Stoke paid the price.

4-3 the final scoreline at Deepdale.
