Player Ratings: Tottenham 3-2 Stoke

Last updated : 10 April 2011 By Dan Buxton

Asmir Begovic - 7 - Had very little chance with any of the goals but was on hand to make a few good saves to keep the game alive

Andy Wilkinson - 6 - Got caught out a few times after being brought in from the cold, mind you Bale has done that to bigger named right backs than Wilko this season

Marc Wilson - 6 - Distribution was ropey at best but defensively stayed strong and has put a good case forward for being the Potters full time left back in Higginbotham's absence

Robert Huth - 7 - Made a few fantastic tackles to stop Spurs in their stride and was his usual no nonsense self defending the City goal

Ryan Shawcross - 6 - Was given a tough ride by Crouch all afternoon but he is an awkward player to mark. Will have better days, and worse

Jermaine Pennant - 6 - Very disappointing as he failed to get in the game and overhit the majority of his crosses. Got frustrated by the left back and was booked after a series of late tackles

Matthew Etherington - 8 - Scored a great goal and was also a menace down the left, putting numerous crosses into the box, as he was on top of his game at his former club

Glenn Whelan - 6 - Struggled to assert himself on the game with the power and skill of the Spurs midfield as he failed to replicate last seasons winning goal

Rory Delap - 6 - Failed to get himself in the game as the Spurs midfield controlled the tempo of the match. Long throws were easily dealt with

Jon Walters - 6 - Never stopped running again but wih little luck this time. Should have equalised but a crucial touch from Gomes took the ball slightly behind him and made the chance harder, still an open goal is an open goal.

Kenwyne Jones - 8(Man of the Match) - Another fantastic display of how to be a nuisance as a target man as he battled away, showed pace, power, aggression and also scored a fantastic 30 yard effort that flew in the postage stamp, leaving Gomes no chance
