Player Ratings: Stoke City 1-1 Manchester United

Last updated : 25 September 2011 By Dan Buxton

Asmir Begovic - 7 - Made one or two good saves when needed but kicking was erratic

Andy Wilkinson - 9(Man of the Match) - Brilliant yet again! Will never know how De Gea kept out his first half effort. Strong and commited in defence and always willing to bomb forward

Marc Wilson - 8 - Strong at the back, very little got past him and was confident on the ball. Ferocious free kick was straight down De Gea's throat or it would have burst the net

Ryan Shawcross - 8 - Hardly put a foot wrong, whether it be in the air or on the ground, as he seemed to deal with the visitors with ease

Jonathan Woodgate - 8 - Class yet again. Hardly ever gave the ball away and also, after early scare with tackle on Hernandez, was brilliant in defending the Potters goal. Maybe could have done slightly better with United goal

Jermaine Pennant - 8 - Quiet opening half but was involved throughout the second period as he twice set up Crouch and was a menace carrying and delivering the ball into dangerous areas

Matthew Etherington - 7 - Showed willingness and good pace but struggled to take the ball past his man when approaching the full backs. Great set piece delivery got its reward with Crouch equaliser

Glenn Whelan - 8 - Great display in the middle as he got stuck in from the start, just ask Patrice Evra, was sharp and accurate with his passing and full of energy right through

Rory Delap - 8 - Got involved closing down again and again and again often United to rush passes or go backwards. Throw ins were dangerous

Jon Walters - 9 - Full of energy as per usual as he chased and pressured the visitors backline throughout the game. Won numerous corners and free kicks whilst pressure no doubt saw a few more passes go astray than they would have normally done

Peter Crouch - 9 - Perfect touches both with head and feet set the pace for many City attacks. Gets himself into some great positions and with a few more games under his belt will no doubt start troubling the net on a more regular basis. Great headed goal but will be cursing himself for not getting at least one more

Robert Huth - 7 - Settled straight in as he replaced the tired and cramped up Wilkinson at right back. Played well until injury time when he left Giggs with oceans of room at the back post

Dean Whitehead - 7 - Came on to add some late energy to a tiring midfield and put himself about ensuring the Potters were able to take the point they deserved

Cameron Jerome - N/A - Came on for injury time but didn't touch the ball
