Player Ratings: Stoke 3-2 Fulham

Last updated : 05 January 2010 By Dan Buxton

Steve Simonsen - 6 - Dropped a couple of crosses although he never had a chance with either goal as a huge defelection and a superb strike would have beat any keeper. Had hearts in mouths with his butterfingers and uncertainty on whether to come or not

Robert Huth - 7 - Solid display from the converted full back. Tried to play the ball and pass it around but knew when to get rid to avoid any trouble and was trong in the tackle and marking was tight and effective

Ryan Shawcross - 8 - Fantastic display as he headed away everything. His flick on set up Tuncay for the opening goal and at the other end he was faultless once again, leading the defence through the late barrage of pressure

Abdoulaye Faye - 8 - Best performance of the season by the captain. Scored a goal and did everything he was called upon to do at the back. Silly tackle on Zamora injured the striker and earnt a booking but was near faultless other than that

Danny Higginbotham - 7 - Steady display at full back. Got forward well first half and defended well second. Distribution was ropey at times but very little got past him all night

Liam Lawrence - 7 - Plenty of effort and guile after his less than impressive performances this week. Linked up well with Fuller after having a quieter time when the team were on fire early on

Rory Delap - 8 - Was always where he needed to be. First half he, alongside Whitehead, dominated the midfield and put the brakes on any threat.

Dean Whitehead - 8 - Another top display from the midfielder. Didn't have as much attacking intent as Saturday but hassled and harried and this helped force mistakes that gave the Potters the chances to go 3-0 up. Stepped off the gas a little second half, as did the whole team, but continued to be there when he needed to be late on to see the game out

Matthew Etherington - 8 - Pace and creative instinct with a constant threat down the left. Linked up well with Tuncay and Fuller and continued his great form, even with Higginbotham, who doesn't give him the same service as Collins, behind him. Two assists and a disallowed goal aren't a bad return.

Mama Sidibe - 8 - Won a lot in the air, shielded the ball well on the deck and scored what turned out to be the vital third goal

Tuncay - 8 - Fantastic start as he ran his socks off, chasing everything down and winning most things. Scored the opener after winning the corner but had to be subbed shortly before half time with a leg injury

Ricardo Fuller - 8 - Came on for Tuncay and was a menace from the off. Chased down ball after ball and only fate knows how he didn't get on the scoresheet

Glenn Whelan - 7 - Picked out some great passes to try and set up the game clinching fourth

Salif Diao - 6 - Came on and helped see the Potters through five long minutes of injury time
