Asmir Begovic - 7 - Didn't have a lot to do but did it confidently and made sure the visitors were kept out of the match

Andy Wilkinson - 7 - Was strong and willing down the right but did get caught out on a couple of occasions

Danny Collins - 7 - Was solid and dependable for the majority of the game, but did have a moment or two.

Ryan Shawcross - 8(Man of the Match) - Was dominant at the back as he and Huith settled into a strong central pairing. Dominated the aerial game and swept up everything on the floor

Robert Huth - 8 - Looks far more settled in the middle and this performance could well see him cement his position there for a long time to come

Jermaine Pennant - 7 - Was lively and used his pace and footwork to good effect. Put a great ball through to Jones for the clincher

Matthew Etherington - 7 - Wasn't on top form but was able to get up and down wing and used the ball well

Dean Whitehead - 8 - Covered every blade of grass as he dominated the midfield and helped to set the foundation for the Potters success

Rory Delap - 6 - Struggled to find a teammate but did put in plenty of effort

Kenwyne Jones - 7 - Neat finish for clinching goal but had a quiet game, not at his best

Ricardo Fuller - 8 - Ran the defence ragged as he seemed to have the glued to his feet. Used pace, power and aggression to create many opportunities for City aswell as scoring the opener.

Jon Walters - 6 - Sent on for the final few minutes to add some fresh legs and see his side over the line
