Player Ratings: Stoke 2-0 Hull

Last updated : 04 April 2010 By Dan Buxton

Thomas Sorensen - 7 - Had nothing to do but was his usual calming presence when he had the ball

Robert Huth - 8 - Was immovable object at right back as he had the winger in his pocket. Distributed the ball well and was never in a moments trouble

Danny Collins - 7 - Had a few nervy moments but nothing major. Gave the ball away a few times when looked to play it short and did get caught out of position a few times. One header was comically bad as he nodded across his own box to a Hull player but it came to nothing

Abdoulaye Faye - 7 - Captain passed a late fitness test and gave a leaders performance. Was always there to take the ball off the opposition when they threatened to get near the danger areas and looked composed on the ball, never rushed

Danny Higginbotham - 7 - Was a good, solid performance. Will come against better strikers than Folan but still kept his concentration and was never in any trouble

Liam Lawrence - 7 - Had had a quiet game as he looks to get his best form back, until he netted late on with a precision finish. Hopefully that will kick start his season

Matthew Etherington - 9(Man of the Match) - Outstanding! Ran the show again and every time he gets the ball you know that something is going to happen. Terrorised the full back all afternoon and also showed a tireless work rate as he never stopped running

Glenn Whelan - 7 - Was industrious and showed great heart in helping Stoke dominate the first half. Seemed to tire after the break and was withdrawn when game started to pass him by

Rory Delap - 7 - Did a lot of the scrappy stuff that goes unrecognised. Throw ins were dealt with well but he put in the yard hards again

David Kitson - 7 - Won a great flick on to Fuller for the goal, showing Sidibe how its done, and moved ball well with his feet. Had a couple of headers at goal but nothing clear and put a real shift in before his withdrawal

Ricardo Fuller - 7 - Scored after five minutes but got injured in the process. Even though in obvious discomfort, and unable to sprint, he continued to torment the Hull defence through to half time before his withdrawal

Tuncay - 7 - Ran around a lot, pressing defenders at all times and showed glimpses of skill that he possesses. Bit of composure would have seen him score when Myhill's clearance fell at his feet

Dean Whitehead - 6 - Came on to shore up the midfield and broke up play well. Wasn't an in your face performance but he went about his game quietly and stopped Hull building in the midfield

Mama Sidibe - 5 - Had very little to do when he came on. Did nothing particuarly wrong but never really got involved
