Player Ratings: Stoke 2-0 Bolton

Last updated : 15 January 2011 By Dan Buxton

Asmir Begovic - 7 - Made some good saves and looked solid on everything. Kicking was mainly good in awful conditions for goalkeeping

Andy Wilkinson - 7 - Another display full of spirit and passion whilst his distribution was good and he was looking to get forward when the Potters were on top#

Danny Higginbotham - 7 - Kept his place and made an impact by scoring the opener. Was a bit ropey at times and started to show signs of tiredness late on but kept battling until the end

Robert Huth - 8 - Defender was a brick wall as he and Shawcross had the Bolton front two in their pockets and the German was also a danger in the opposition box

Ryan Shawcross - 7 - Played well and, along with Huth, kept the dangerous duo of Elmander and Davies quiet with ease

Rory Delap - 7 - Played in the wide right position and did his duty of negating the attacking threat of Taylor aswell as doing his bit going forward

Matthew Etherington - 8 - Was back on top form as he troubled both wingers all afternoon, culminating in the winning of a penalty after being brought down when clean through, a spot kick he just about converted to seal the win

Dean Whitehead - 8 - Fantastic performance from the midfield engine as he was first to every 50/50 and quite a few 30/70 balls whilst he was still able to make some lung busting runs in the last few minutes

Marc Wilson - 7 - Bit quieter than his last two games but another solid display. Some great passes and picked up loose balls alongside Whitehead

Tuncay - 9(Man of the Match) - Some sublime play from a player now looking settled in the side and was at the forefront of near enough every Stoke attack

Kenwyne Jones  - 8 - Took an early rake down the achilles but recovered to win his fair share in the air, lay the ball off well and show some good touches with the ball at his feet

Glenn Whelan - 7 - Came on and was busy in the midfield, showing good strength to battle as the opposition grew frustrated at not being allowed to create anything from midfield

Jon Walters - 7 - Made himself a nuisance when he came on and kept the pressure on the Bolton defence thus stopping any easy out balls from the backline

Danny Pugh - 6 - Had no time to make an impact but was put on to help see out the win
