Player Ratings: Stoke 1-2 Tottenham

Last updated : 22 March 2010 By Dan Buxton

Thomas Sorenson - 6 - Had little chance with either goal but made a few other saves and handled well

Robert Huth - 6 - Not his best outing in a Stoke shirt, but definately not the worst. Still not completely happy at right back.

Danny Collins - 7 - Looked comfortable and as if he feels more at home, and more confident, in recent games. Must have realised he needs to up his game if he is to keep his place when everybody returns.

A.D. Faye - 7 - Had a good game, well timed tackles, dominant in the air, apart from one mistake that caused the opening goal as he allowed Gudjohnsen to get goalside and then outmucle him on his way to the opener.

Danny Higginbotham - 6 - Was never at the top of his game but managed to get through without any fatal mistakes. Won his fair share on the ground and in the air but always felt that he would make a bad error sooner or later. Distribution was poor.

Rory Delap - 6 - Put himself about but not a right winger. Got a few crosses in, which is a bonus on his usual right wing outings, but wasn't involved for large periods.

Matthew Etherington - 8 - Scored the penalty that got us level and was always willing to get forward and torment the full back. A major threat as usual but seemed to be out of luck

Dean Whitehead - 6 - Had an off day, his first in months, and looked knackered in the midfield. That may have led to him being slightly late for both his bookings although the second was harsh.

Glenn Whelan - 6 - Got involved but whilst the defensive side of his game was ok, winning tackles etc, the offensive side was poor, many misplaced passes and he looked hurried on the ball

David Kitson - 8(Man of the Match) - Put in a great performance, playing the Mama role better than Mama did. Won everything in the air whilst also being able to bring the ball down and spread the play or have the ball to feet and pass it off to a teammate. Unlucky that he had to go on the wing after the sending off but should have done enough to get a run in the side.

Ricardo Fuller - 6 - Wasn't able to get involved much and had a bad day at the office topped off with a terrible miss late on when the scores were level.

Mama Sidibe - 4 - Came on and offered nothing. Couldn't win a header, couldn't control the ball and when given the simple task of rolling the ball into the net with seconds left he just fell over and the point was gone.

Tuncay - 6 - Usual effort was there for all to see but no luck. Showed no signs of sulking as he came off bench and tried his best to make something happen when we were up against it
