Player Ratings: Stoke 1-1 Cardiff

Last updated : 08 January 2011 By Dan Buxton

Thomas Sorensen - 6 - No really complaints about the goal but nothing to do apart from that, kicking was ok

Ryan Shotton - 7 - Great home debut as he came in from the cold to put in a fine performance. Showed off his dangerous long throws and was dependable in defence and calm on the ball to give TP a headache at right back

Ryan Shawcross - 7 - Like a brick wall and that helped dominate the play as they did. Could have reacted quicker with the goal but was a danger in the opposition box as he tried to make amends

Robert Huth - 7 - Solid as ever and with Shawcross gave City a solid base to attack off

Danny Higginbotham - 7 - Solid and put in some good deliveries as the Potters became more and more dominant

Jermaine Pennant - 7 - Looked dangerous when on the ball and put in some great crosses in the first half. A kick in that opening period hampered him until he was subbed

Marc Wilson - 8(Man of the Match) - Really starting to settle into the side now and could well have done enough to keep himself in the side for next weekends game aswell. Some superb passes in the final third are what sets him apart from other midfield options

Glenn Whelan - 7 - Played some wonderful passes but also dallied on the ball once or twice and played the wrong ball, decent game though

Tuncay - 8 - Scored the equaliser and put on a real show, plenty of flair and tricks as he looked to see the Potters home

Jon Walters - 7 - Plenty of running throughout and seemed to feel more at home against a Championship defence

Ricardo Fuller - 6 - Not his afternoon. Seemed to have a reluctance to shoot but link up play was good

Matthew Etherington - 7 - Added a fresh threat from the wing after replacing Pennant. Some good crosses and he looked dangerous when in possession

Kenwyne Jones - 7 - Had one chance, that he made himself, but the keeper pulled off a great save. Won a lot in the air but should have scored a header

Rory Delap - 6 - Didn't have long but had a few throws
