Player Ratings:- Manchester City 1-1 Stoke

Last updated : 17 February 2010 By Dan Buxton

Thomas Sorenson - 7 - No chance with the goal as the ball bounced off the post. Handling was superb and no major saves were required throughout game

Robert Huth - 7 - Solid on the right before moveing inside after red card. Good partnership with Shawcross in the middle and he was hand on numerous occasions to clear the danger away, whether it be via foot or head.

Danny Higginbotham - 7 - Steady before half time withdrawal. Had a solid time against Johnson, who will cause many a full back problems, and supported Delap well going forward

Ryan Shawcross - 7 - Had a perfectly good goal chalked off and helped see the defence through the tough spell after captain Faye had been dismissed, showing his leadership skills. Scored a perfectly good winning goal late on but had it unfairly chalked off

Abdoulaye Faye - 6 - Unlucky with sending off, he seemed to win the ball but it was a poor touch that put him in that situation. Was quite solid other than that but now has a four game ban to rest up

Liam Lawrence - 7 - Good engine and set piece delivery was good. Paid the price for Faye's red card as he was sacrificial lamb for Diao.

Rory Delap - 9 - Best performance of the season. Set up late 'goal' for Shawcross with another throw but that was just thwe tip of the iceberg after a display full of effort, passing, tackling and dribbling on the left wing

Dean Whitehead - 8 - Another great engine display from Whitehead, although he had quietish second half. Played better first half when he was able to get forward more and support the strikers

Glenn Whelan - 8 - Great strike, although Given should have done better, and good to see him put two goods games together. Hopefully he can become more consistent now and make himself a valuable first teamer. Was busy throughout and had a good battle with Vieira

Mama Sidibe - 8 - Had a good start and finish to the game. Slightly off at the end of the first half when he kept giving the ball away and playing loose passes but on the whole another credible performance

Ricardo Fuller - 9 - Fantatic display from a player back to his best. Ran his legs off and was a constant threat to the Citizens defence. Should have been awarded a penalty after Barry hauled him down

Danny Collins - 6 - Came on for the injured Higginbotham at half time. Struggled down the left wing and was lucky on more than once that his loose tackles and passes didn't result in goals for Citeh. He also allowed Barry to beat him to the ball for the equaliser

Salif Diao - 6 - Sent on to shore up the midfield after Faye's red card and immediately got stuck in. One great pass put Beattie in late on

James Beattie - 6 - Came on for the tired Fuller and had one big chance but took too long and then miscued horribly
