Player Ratings: Liverpool 2-0 Stoke

Last updated : 05 February 2011 By Dan Buxton

Asmir Begovic - 8(Man of the Match) - Made one world class save, and numerous other great stops as he tried in vain to keep the hosts at bay

Andy Wilkinson - 7 - Was as committed and solid as ever as he tied up his wing and was unfortunate with the second goal

Danny Higginbotham - 6 - Horribly playing Suarez on for the second goal, at lerast 10 yards behind the rest of the defence, but was otherwise quite solid

A.D. Faye - 6 - Started well but looked ropey and out of sorts the longer the game went on

Robert Huth - 7 - Marshalled defence well enough and was often there to dig Faye out of trouble

Jermaine Pennant - 7 - Looked a threat when he got in the final third but didn't get the ball often enough. Tracked back well

Jon Walters - 7 - Battled well throughout but just couldn't help City get that goal to get the home sides nerves going

Salif Diao - 5 - Surprise inclusion and possibly a costly one as he gave away numerous free kicks, and one eventually led to the opening goal, before he was subbed

Dean Whitehead - 6 - Got stuck in and held the midfield together, his effort making sure the Potters weren't overran in the centre of the pitch

Marc Wilson - 6 - Kept it neat and tidy first half and battled well but after the break lost his touch a little

John Carew - 7 - Was given the thankless task up front on his own but pressured well and went closest to scoring when he flashed a shot across goal and just wide

Danny Collins - 6 - Came on when Faye went down injured and did a job, nothing fancy but not a lot of pressure at that stage

Ricardo Fuller - 6 - Looked lively after his introduction, a welcome sight that the transfer speculation hasn't affected him

Rory Delap - 6 - Came on to try and add some late aerial pressure via the throw but failed to get in the game much
