Player Ratings: Dynamo Kiev 1-1 Stoke City

Last updated : 21 September 2011 By Dan Buxton

Thomas Sorensen - 7 - Some very good handling to end danger on more than occasion. Couple of great saves to deny hosts

Ryan Shotton - 8 - Very assured display in defence and then looked a natural bombing forward, setting up Jerome's goal

Andy Wilkinson - 8 - When the ball was in the Potters defensive third he was there, when it was in the final third he was there. A real box to box performance at left wing back

Robert Huth - 7 - Booked in first half for silly foul but other than that was well disciplined and impressive as part of a back five

Matthew Upson - 7 - Ditto Huth

Ryan Shawcross - 7 - Booked for a foul on the edge of the box. Very confident display and looks more and more a seasoned european player as the games go by

Wilson Palacios - 8 - Gave a masterclass in playing just in front of the defence as he stopped the hosts from getting near the Potters goal on numerous occasions.

Salif Diao - 7 - Gave away a number of free kicks in the early stages but settled after eventually getting booked and was a great asset during the second period

Glenn Whelan - 7 - Got stuck in and shielded the ball well from the defence

Cameron Jerome - 8 - Great finish for the goal. a chance that could so easily have been missed, and also ran the defence ragged with his pace and touch

Kenwyne Jones - 8(Man of the Match) - Was a menace in the air, winning everything, and also provided a danger with the ball at his feet. Great chest and turn nearly allowed City to add a second but after 50 yard run at goal his legs just couldn't add the finish

Jermaine Pennant - 5 - Did nothing after being brought on to add some fresh legs

Dean Whitehead - 7 - Came on at right back for final twenty minutes and did well. Didn't need to get forward and defended solidly

Jon Walters - 6 - Brought on late on but couldn't really get involved
