Last updated : 01 January 2011 By Dan Buxton

Asmir Begovic - 7 - A clean sheet and he only really had one or two saves to make, but one was a top, top stop at his back post

Andy Wilkinson - 6 - Solid and dependable in defence but iffy distribution didn't help the side when trying to build

Danny Collins - 6 - Was caught out a couple of times but pulled a couple of good tackles out when he was in trouble

Ryan Shawcross - 7 - Captains performance as he marshalled the backline and helped keep the Rovers frontmen quiet, seemingly with ease, although he didn't seem to have much to do throughout the game

Robert Huth - 8(Man of the Match) - Played well as City kept Rovers out without much fuss. Continues to be a danger at the other end and netted the crucial opener with a great glancing header

Jermaine Pennant - 7 - Struggled to get going as his team mates looked lethargic early doors but was busy throughout and delivery was good

Matthew Etherington - 7 - Full of running and crossing was spot on and got an assist as his corner was headed in Huth

Dean Whitehead - 7 - Got better as the game went on but started poorly when the midfield was there for the taking

Rory Delap - 6 - Struggled to really assert himself on the game as both sides failed to get going in the first half. Improved after the break

Kenwyne Jones - 7 - Put his body on the line and chased many a lost cause in the first half. Needs a goal to help him get back on track

Jon Walters - 7 - Gave his all with plenty of running but nothing really dropped for him. Good bit of thinking put Fuller away for the second goal though

Glenn Whelan - 6 - Sent on to help shore up the midfield and threw himself into a few tackles to help City keep their advantage

Ricardo Fuller - 6 - Sent on to help keep the Rovers defence busy late on and was on hand to set up Wilson with the crucial second

Marc Wilson - 6 - Came on for injury time and netted his first Potters goal with a composed finish
