Asmir Begovic - 7 - Did well for over 90 minutes but then fumbled an awkward shot and the rest, as they say, is history
Marc Wilson - 7 - Came in at right back and played well, was solid and comfortable on the ball. Tried to get forward when possible and could well be playing right back again in the future
Danny Pugh - 7 - Played well on his first PL start for some time and kept his wing quiet, keeping Bentley out of the game for long periods
Ryan Shawcross - 7 - Was part of a solid looking defence throughout until Jerome cross at the end caused mass panic
Robert Huth - 7 - Never looked in any danger, ala Shawcross, until last ditch goal after panic at the back
Jermaine Pennant - 7 - Always involved but looked desperate to be the main man on his return to Birmingham but delivery was lacking on occasions
Jon Walters - 6 - Was ineffective out wide as he struggled to have a positive influence on the game.
Dean Whitehead - 7 - Was here, there and everywhere and made some good runs forward, aswell as tracking back whenever needed. Really does keep on running and even had a couple of efforts himself on Saturday
Rory Delap - 7 - Long throws were hampered by boards but still had good distance. Got stuck in in the midfield and had one shot that went way over, but maybe should have passed as better options were available
Kenwyne Jones - 7 - An improvement on recent outings as he looked more committed and was looking to get involved. Linked up very well with Carew and could have had a couple of goals and assists at the end of the day
John Carew - 8(Man of the Match) - Played well, brought the ball down and held it up. Linked up well with Jones and very nearly scored on a couple of occasions
Glenn Whelan - 6 - came on late on and just pottered about. Didn't really do much but didn't do too much wrong either
Ricardo Fuller - 6 - Was straight in the game after coming off the bench but should maybe have laid the ball off once or twice after good runs
