Player Ratings: Aston Villa 1-1 Stoke

Last updated : 24 April 2011 By Dan Buxton

Asmir Begovic - 7 - No chance with the goal and although he had very little else to do, came and claimed numerous balls into the box and looked very assured

Andy Wilkinson - 7 - Very good performance from the Stone born defender. Was solid at the back, keeping Young frustrated as he was unable to get near the byline, forcing the winger deeper to get any space. Kept the ball quite well going forward aswell

Marc Wilson - 7 - Another solid display from the full back as he kept his flank quiet and distributed the ball well from the back, finding a Stoke shirt with his clearances, whether them short or long balls.

Robert Huth - 8 - A rock at the back as he headed away everything that came his way and also had a couple of efforts at goal at the other end, including a 20 yard volley that Friedel tipped over the bar

Ryan Shawcross - 8 - Mopped up superbly and gave as good as he got when going up against Heskey. Nothing got past him as he had one of his best games of the season

Jermaine Pennant - 7 - Looked dangerous when going forward and got back to help his full back well. Some great crosses as usual and gave Luke Young a busy afternoon throughout

Matthew Etherington - 6 - Off the boil and maybe had one eye on Wembley as he backed off a couple of 50/50's. The earlier we can get another win the earlier we can start a bit of squad rotation to help keep the attacking players we have left fit for the cup final

Rory Delap - 6 - Scored from one of Rory's missiles but the game seemed to bypass him quite a bit. A yard off the pace and a couple of very late tackles could have had him in trouble

Glenn Whelan - 6 - Dropped off from his recent performances as our midfield seemed to get overrun by the hosts. Battled away though with little rewards

Jon Walters - 6 - Not his usual self as the energy used in recent weeks looked to catch up with him May be worth giving him a rest on Tuesday if we have any fit strikers to replace him with :-/

Kenwyne Jones - 8(Man of the Match) - Scored the Potters goal with a great header and was unplayable during the first half but was well and truly starved of the ball after the break before being subbed as TP settled for a point

Dean Whitehead - 6 - Never really got into the game after coming as a sub with the game heading towards a tight climax.

Ricardo Fuller - 7 - Came on and created three or four chances with his trickery and quick feet, Was looking dangerous before injury struck and he was stretchered off

Salif Diao - 6 - Came on late on and helped City see the game for a point after Ric went off leaving the Potters with 10 men
