Player Ratings: Arsenal 2-0 Stoke

Last updated : 05 December 2009 By Dan Buxton

Thomas Sorenson - 8 - Brilliant penalty save and a number of others kept the Potters in the game and enhanced his growing credentials for Potters player of the season

Andy Wilkinson - 7 - Couple of rash challenges dampened what was otherwise another positive performance. Had plenty to do and other than those one or two moments dealt well with what was thrown his way

Danny Collins - 7 - Rock at the back. Kept things simple and great awareness diffused many a Gunners attack

Abdoulaye Faye - 6 - Nearly scored an own goal when sliced cross onto own post. Don't know why but just doesn't seem the same player as last season

Robert Huth - 7 - Slid in wildly once in first half that allowed a chance for Arshavin but otehr than that was near faultless in the way of making tackles and pressuring the opposition

Liam Lawrence - 6 - Not his greatest game in a City shirt. Struggled early on and although he improved as the game went on never got fully into game

Matthew Etherington - 7 - City's best outlet from midfield. Always looking for the ball and trying to do some thing with it

Salif Diao - 8(Man of the Match) - Broke up play well all game and countless slide tackles were timed to perfection

Rory Delap - 6 - Put himself around well and although not as effective as Diao he still gave a good account in defence. Throw ins were varied and created havoc

Mama Sidibe - 6 - Controlled ball well and found wingers reguarly. Not much in the final third but thats not entirely his fault

Tuncay - 7 - Good effort throughout and constant prodding of the defence saw him get through once after being denied one-on-one situations countless times.

Subs

James Beattie - 5 - Was unable to get into the game as Arsenal pushed for a second before playing out the win with possession football

Ricardo Fuller - 6 - Probed away and fresh legs caused problems late on. Could have had one goal when unkind bounce denied him a run in on goal

Glenn Whelan - 6 - Bit too late to make an impression but composure and forward thinking will be invaluable against less daunting opposition
