Begovic – 8 – made some good saves, couple unconvincing punches from Lampards shots. 

Wilson – 7 – Steady game, could of closed down better for Drogba goal.

 

Huth – 9 – Usual physical presence, would of won the game if not for a fine save from Cech. 

Shawcross – 7 – Not his best display, but dealt with Drogba, Anelka & Torres well.

 

Higginbotham – 8 – Strong display, distribution seems to be improving could of done better for goal. 

Pennant – 7 – Good display, should of scored start of second half. Subbed

Whelan – 7 – Good work in the engine room, few passes went a stray. Subbed

Delap – 7 – Worked hard in the middle, nearly got an assist with throw.

Etherington – 8 – Did well down the left, some good link up play.

 

Walters – 10- Man of the match performance, typifies everything about Stoke. 

Jones – 8 – One of his best recent performances, gave Terry trouble all afternoon.

 

Subs 

Collins – 6 – Coped well when thrown in a deep end.

Whitehead – 6 – Picked up well from where Whelan left off 

Fuller – 9 – Had a cameo display in last few minutes & was inches away from an injury time winner.
