Beat The Manager Review: Week 9

Last updated : 19 October 2009 By Dan Buxton

The Potters supporters clearly approached Saturdays game with optimism as, of the thirteen predictions made, twelve were for Stoke wins. The Potters duly won the match and the 2-1 scoreline was correctly predicted by four of the twelve.

The only person to lose out was last weeks leader Knoweyedeer, who predicted a one all draw and so picked up just the two points. Luckily for knoweyedeer there was only man close enough to take advantage and overtake the high fliers as Peckham Pouncers took over at the top of the league after picking up a maximum 20 points.

Mighty Morphin Flower Arrangers and Buxtons Picks stayed 3rd and 4th respectively, with the former becoming the third side to pass a century of points for the season.

Just underneath the 'Champions League' places the next three places all stayed the same, Heerweege Whammers, Goatface and Cumbrian Select all knowing a maximum haul would put them right amongst the leaders.

Three of the four big winners this week were from the mid section of the league as Whitehill Casuals leapfrogged M.Young into 8th and PENN UNITED and the oracle picked up their first 'wins' to claim 10th and 11th position.

Little gaps are starting to appear in the table but one game can see such a turnaround that it really is still anybodys to win at this stage.
