Stoke City manager Tony Pulis says he is solely focused on Premier League survival despite his side's surge into the top half of the Premier League. The Potters, who are now eighth, are unbeaten in four games after Saturday's 1-1 draw with Manchester City.

"I've always said it was a three year plan coming into the Premier League," Pulis told BBC Radio Stoke.

"If we can maintain Premier League status for a third year then we can really push on."

Saturday's draw saw Stoke reach the 20-point mark with four games to play before reaching the halfway point of the Premier League season.

Only one team, West Ham in 2003, has been relegated from the Premier League with more than 40 points since the introduction of a 38-game season.

With some fans openly discussing the possibility of European football at the Britannia Stadium next season, Pulis is concentrating solely on reaching that landmark and completing the infrastructural improvements that three years of Premier League football have helped to fund.

"This is the third year [since promotion]. It's a tough league and sometimes we do get too carried away with things and too down with things," he added.

"Maintain Premier League status for a third year and this club will have put down rock solid foundations to really push on."
