Stoke City striker Jon Walters has said reaching the FA Cup final would complete a difficult career journey.Walters, who played six times for Stoke's semi-final opponents Bolton, spent the early years of his career with various Football League clubs.
He told BBC Radio Stoke: "To get to the Premier League was massive for me after going down to the lower leagues.
"It's been a big season for me, a lot of hard work has got me here and hard work will continue to keep me here."
The 27-year-old began his career as a trainee at Blackburn and made just four substitute appearances in the Premier League for Bolton.
Walters scored regularly in League Two with Wrexham and Chester before joining Championship side Ipswich in January 2007, and then completed his journey back to the top-flight when he made a ?2.75m move to the Potters in August 2010.
He is Stoke's top scorer this season with nine goals, three of them coming in the Potters' run to the last four of the FA Cup.
"We've had a few tough games and it's always your aim to do well in the cup," added Walters.
"With a bit of luck along the way and good draws, you give yourselves a good chance.
"It's only a semi-final though, there's still a long way to go and hopefully with a bit of luck on Sunday we can get ourselves to the final."
