Stoke sign Danish Number 1 Sorensen

The 32-year-old Dane has played around 400 Premier League games and so adds some much needed Premiership experience to the Potters squad. Sorensen should provide vital competition for the goalkeeping jersey to Steve Simonsen, who put in a claim for the position with a good performance in last nights friendly versus Notts County.

The deal throws a major doubt of the long anticipated transfer of HUngarian keeper Marton Fulop from Sunderland. Despite the two clubs agreeing a fee believed to be around £3m, the deal looks to have stumbled on Fulop's wage demands. These demands may have backfired as they could have left the 25-year-old in Sunderland's reserves, rather than Stoke's first team.
