Trialist Juvhel Tsoumou was handed a start in midfield for Wednesday along with summer signings David Prutton and Jose Semedo.
With so many changes at half-time, it was a low-key encounter against the League One side, with Diego Arismendi coming closest to breaking the deadlock when he hit the woodwork late on.
The Owls will begin their quest for promotion from League One next week when they host Rochdale.
