18th August 1984: Born in East Berlin, Germany

August 2001: Signs for Chelsea, after youth career at Union Berlin

May 2002: Professional debut as half time substitute v Aston Villa in last game of season

June 2003: Makes Germany U21 squad for FIFA World Youth Championships

2004: Makes senior international debut, currently has 19 caps

June 2005: Key member of German side for Confederatiosn Cup, Scores first international goal in 3rd play play off game v Mexico.

July 2005: Chelsea reject bid for Huth from Bayern Munich, despite the German not being a regular

June 2006: Played in the 2006 World Cup. Doesn't play for national side for two years following exit

July 2006: Transfer to Middlesbrough falls through following failed medical

31st August 2006: Last ditch transfer to 'Boro goes through after Gallas-Cole saga gets completed in time before window shuts

2006/7: Misses large chunks of the season through injury

December 2007: Makes long awaited comeback from injury, secures man of the match award

May 2009: Relegated with Middlesbrough.

June 2009: Named club captain at Riverside Stadium

August 2009: Joins Stoke for club record £6m
