Reid Out But Whos In?

Tony Pulis assistant Peter Reid has left to join Plymouth Argyle as manager leaving TP looking for yet another right hand man.

Ex-Sunderland, Thailand and Leeds boss Reid has found the lure of management too much to resist after leaving his post as head coach of Thailand at the beginning of last season to become a member of Pulis' back room staff.

After reports of fall outs with David Kitson and James Beattie during his stay, and an apparent frop off in the Potters form and performance in the immediate aftermath of Reid joining City recovered to better last seasons points and placing.

So Tony Pulis is now looking for a new assistant and there are a few names in the hat:-

Gary Megson - Left Bolton last season, has a wealth of recent Premier League experience and was part of the coaching staff before taking over at Bolton as close friend Pulis gave him a job to keep his name in football. Also an ex-Stoke boss when he had a short but successful stint prior to the Icelanders taking over in 1999. May not want the assistant job but don't be suprised to see him join in some way.

Sam Ellis - Another close friend of Tony Pulis who was in the frame before Reid was given the job. Currently at Sheffield United, in the assistant managers role, he may fancy the lure of working within a Premier League club, especially with Blades manager Kevin Blackwell position hanging in the balance.

David Kemp - Could be recalled from his American exile after deciding, for family reasons, that he wanted to relocate to North America. Has been on a scouting mission over in that part of the world since but a phone call from close friend, yes thats right close friend, TP could see him retake the reigns as assistant boss.

Adrian Heath - Currently in charge of Potters affiliated club Austin Aztex but, after previous stints as a manager and as an assistant in English football, this role may be enough for him to come back to England and rejoin the City where he grew up and played his football.
