Quiet deadline day

Tony Pulis has been frustrated in his attempts to sign new players with clubs demanding fees for his targets and no money being made available.

Brian Wilson has returned to Cheltenham for a second loan spell, this time until the end of the season with a view to a permanent switch. Gareth Owen has also had his loan spell at Oldham extended for a further month.

The board obviously feel that the play-offs are out of reach now and so they were reluctant to free up any money for transfers. Tony Pulis will now have to make do with what he has until the end of the season before what promises to be a hectic Summer.

Pulis has stated that there are players in the squad that have come as far as they can go and who need to be replaced but he obviously wants to replace these players with something better and so he will wait until money becomes available in the Summer.

If season ticket sales are good then there could be a decent amount of money for new players but for now we will have to sit tight and hope that we can finish the season strongly so that we are able to attract players of a high quality.
