Tony Said: "The chairman was at Highbury and will have seen 5,000 Stoke supporters in total ecstasy at one point. We want that kind of occasion every week by eating and drinking from the top table.

"But to progress there we must invest in quality players. We can't afford to stall and miss the moment.

"I'm working my socks off to make people realise we could be playing these kind of games every week if we could just take that next step."

Pulis reportedly has £2M to spend over 2 years, despite not yet signing the contract.

"The only reason it hasn't been signed is because my lawyer and the chairman's lawyer are still negotiating over an issue which has stung me in the past.

"I am certainly not stalling. I have shaken hands on the deal. And if I've shaken hands on something, then I consider it done."
