The Potters had enjoyed an unbeaten start to the season which came to an abrupt halt when they were thumped 4-0 by Sunderland last weekend.

Pulis has refused to blame their new-found hectic schedule which means their Premier League tie against Manchester United will be their fourth match in 10 days - and they face another three-game week which will include Besiktas' trip to the Britannia Stadium in the Europa League on Thursday.

"It's something that we're learning," said the City boss. "We won't know how it will affect us until we get through the period. It's different, we've had to change the training routine a little bit and we'll continue to do that.

"It is 'suck it and see' at the moment. There's nothing prepared because we've never done this before.

"We're enjoying it. For the first time in a long, long time we're actually experiencing European football. It's something we should cherish, not something we should make excuses for.

"The next two games will be great games to be involved in."

Pulis will be keen to put an end to an unwanted record against the Red Devils when Stoke go head-to-head with the Premier League champions on home soil.

Having won all six matches against Stoke since their 2008 promotion, Sir Alex Ferguson's outfit are the only team to have escaped unscathed where several of the top flight's elite have failed.
