Potters Star - Were getting stronger

Striker Jon Walters believes Stoke will soon be able to boast a starting XI of internationals. The Potters have never fielded 11 internationals in their history, but their growing stature in the Barclays Premier League has seen a growing number of top-level players join the club. Thomas Sorensen, Eidur Gudjohnsen and Glenn Whelan were all away on international duty this week while the likes of Ryan Shawcross and Matthew Etherington have been mentioned as possible England candidates. Walters has himself drawn the attention of Republic of Ireland boss Giovanni Trapattoni and the 27-year-old striker believes an all-international Stoke XI is not far away. "The quality of the players is obviously improving here and so I don't see why not," he told the Stoke Sentinel. "Ryan is young and has such a good future with England the way he's been going, while Matty has been unlucky not to get a look in as well. If you are playing well week-in, week-out you should be picked on your form."
