The 32 year old said: "As soon as I head of Stoke's interest I was keen to come. The size of club and fan base attracted me and I wanted to come to help the club stay up.
"I've signed a short-term deal for the moment until the end of the season. But if something could be sorted out longer-term I would be delighted."
