The former Tottenham centre-back has joined the Potters on an initial one-year deal in a bid to revive his career following a succession of fitness nightmares.
Woodgate made his first appearance for Stoke in their 1-0 pre-season defeat to Aldershot and came through unscathed, having previously not played since February.
Manager Tony Pulis had always planned to substitute the ex-Leeds star after the hour mark and had hinted he may not be fit for Thursday's Europa League match against Hadjuk Split.
But Woodgate said in the Daily Mirror: "The physios have worked me hard and will keep on doing so. Hopefully it will benefit me for the rest of the season."
He added: "I had no problems at all, it is all good. I have got 60 minutes under my belt, so it's in the bank now."
