Stoke are in negotiations to bring winger Adam Johnson to the Potters.
The deal, likely to be on loan initially, would be a major coup for the Potters as they look to build up their squad before todays 11pm transfer deadline.
Johnson, who can play on either the right or left wing, was a major player for Citeh last season as they finished 3rd in the Premier League and won the FA Cup.
The England winger would certainly provide healthy competition to the Potters current wingers Jermaine Pennant and Matthew Etherington.
