Nathaniel Wedderburn

The powerhouse midfielder won is 3rd Under 19 cap as England defeated Turkey by three goals to one in front of over 4,000 fans at Scunthorpe's Glanford Park.

Wedderburn has a 100% record in internationals and dominated the midfield to help set up another Three Lions victory ahead of the draw for the Elite Group qualifying stage for the 2010 European Under 19 Championships.

Thomas Sorenson

The great Danish keeper won his 85th cap as his country won their home friendly against The United States by three goals to one.

Sorenson was at fault for the goal his side conceded as his weak clearance fell straight to the American striker who stroked the ball past the shot stopper.

Glenn Whelan and Liam Lawrence

It was heartbreak for the Irish as a controversial extra time goal from France's Thierry Henry condemned them to defeat on aggregate.

With the Irish leading on the night thanks to a Robbie Keane strike, cancelling out Nicolas Anelka's first leg strike, the game went to extra time and then thats when the controversy started as a long ball into the box was controllled by Henry with his hand, stopping the ball going out, before he palmed the ball towards his foot where he knocked it towards Gallas to head in for the winner.

Lawrence played 106 minutes before being replaced by Aidan McGeady and gave a committed performance on the right flank whilst Glenn Whelan played 63 minutes before being subbed off and replaced wth Darron Gibson.

...and finally, another Potters star could be at the World Cup next summer after Uruguay booked the 32nd and final place in the finals after drawing 1-1 at home to Costa Rica, to seal a 2-1 aggregate triumph. Although City star Diego Arismendi didn't play, he still has plenty of time to force his way into the side ahead of the final squad announcement.
