The 34-year-old Dane has suffered from a persistent elbow injury but insists he is now fit and raring to go.

"The main thing for me now is that I'm fit, the next thing is to get back in the team," he told BBC Radio Stoke.

Sorensen suffered the injury last season and it came close to ruling him out of his country's World Cup campaign.

The problem continued through the autumn and he lost his place to Begovic, 23 for the Potter's 1-0 win at Everton.

The Bosnian international has now kept goal in Stoke's last eight Premier League games.

Sorensen added: "I'm obviously not happy being on the bench, I want to be playing.

"But the only thing that will get you there is getting your head down, I'm a true professional and I'm training my socks off.

"Hopefully there'll be a chance around the corner, I haven't lost my place because of bad form so I'll just get back on the horse and get going."
