Halls was dismissed two minutes from time in the game at Vicarage Road on 20th December after he reacted angrily to a challenge from Heidar Helguson.

The Potters appealed referee Mr Butlers decision to show the player a red card and the sending-off for violent conduct has now been rescinded.

"Justice has been done and common sense has prevailed," City boss Tony Pulis told the club's official website.

"It was never a sending-off and our appeal has been vindicated.

"John is now available for three very important games next month which otherwise he would have missed."
