Former Potter Gets Call Up To Team GB

Former Stoke City academy graduate Tom Thorley has been selected to represent Great Britain Universities at the World Universities Games in China.

Thorley, now 21, came right the Potters academy before earning a 12 month professional contract at the same time as City got promoted to the Premier League. He never made an appearance for City before being released and has since played for Stafford Rangers and now Worcester City.

The midfielder, from Stone, studies at Worcester University alongside his football and will hope to bring back a gold medal from the Games.
