Stoke defender Matthew Upson is in line to make his debut.
The former West Ham centre-back only joined the Potters last week but is set to play in place of fellow new signing Jonathan Woodgate, who will be rested.
Winger Matt Etherington will play no part after injuring his shoulder against Chelsea at the weekend while Rory Delap (hamstring) and Jermaine Pennant (thigh) are also doubts as Tony Pulis considers makes changes.
