Defenders Season Looks Set To Be Ended By Injury

Carl Dickinson could be set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after being forced off at half time of Barnsley's goalless draw with Crystal Palace with suspected knee ligament damage.

Tykes boss Mark Robins commented after the game that "Dicko came off after what looked an innoculous challenge. He has some stud marks on his thigh but it looks as though he has suffered ligament damage. We will have to wait and see in the next couple of days"

The defender has spent the season on loan at Oakwell, along with Ryan Shotton, and was due to see out the season before returning to the Britannia Stadium in the summer. The Potters pair are both expected front runners for the Barnsley player of the season award.
