Defender Pens Potters Contract

Stoke defender Ryan Shotton has signed a two year extension to his Potters contract, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2013.

Shotton, 21, has so far made two appearances for the Potters but has been a massive hit during season long loans at Altrincham, Tranmere and Barnsley.

The Fenton born defender came through the ranks at the Potters academy and was a commanding centre back but has been primarily used at right back during his stints at Tranmere and Barnsley.

The signing of a contract extension has often seen City then send out their youngsters with Shotton, Carl Dickinson, Andy Wilkinson and Nathaniel Wedderburn all temporarily leaving the club days after penning new deals for the club in recent times so don't be suprised to see Shotton leave the Potters on loan again shortly.
