Summer signing Robert Huth has been charged with violent conduct after his altercation with Matthew Upson in Saturdays win over West Ham.

Huth, who has made the right back position his own since joining from Middlesbrough, is likely to be hit with a three match ban if found guilty when the evidence is reviewed on Thursday.

The incident happenned when the Potters were defending a free kick during the second half of the Saturdays game. The defenders had a coming together and Huth appeared to throw an arm at the West Ham man, opening a cut by his eye.

A three game ban would see Huth miss the trip to Tottenham on Saturday aswell as the local derby against Wolves the following Saturday and the televised trip to Hull.

The German defender would have been suspended for next Tuesdays Carling Cup trip to Portsmouth but he is already cup tied and is unavailable
