He is soon off to his UEFA 'Pro Licence' training course and will return next week.
He told teamtalk: "It's seemed like a long time in finally getting to meet the players but now I have I'm raring to go and am looking forward to working with them.
"I've had a chat with them and told them how I want them to be and they are a good set of lads.
"I don't think there's any need to chat with individuals because I don't envisage any problems with them.
"Unfortunately the fact that I've now got to complete my coaching qualification over the next week is a total inconvenience but there is nothing I can do about it.
"But I know the players will be left in capable hands with Dave Kevan while I'm away."
