City boss fails in bid for baggies pair

The media has been running on overdrive ever since the Potters announced they had money to spend and several players have been linked with a move to City over the past week.

The latest rumours in the press suggested that Pulis was interested to sign Hulse and Moore and he has today confirmed this on the official website. Hulse has been linked with the Potters before so it comes as no real surprise that Pulis has followed up his interest once more.

It is also becoming increasingly obvious that he feels a centre half is a priority. We have been linked with a number of defenders, most recently Lewis Buxton from Portsmouth so Darren Moore is just a further addition to the list.

However, Baggies boss Gary Megson has informed Pulis that neither player is available so the search goes on for new talent. Also on the official website, Pulis has revealed that City are looking abroad for new talent and that assistant boss Lindsay Parsons has identified two players who he feels will strengthen the side. The transfer window does not open until December though, so we are unlikely to see any further developments here for some time.

It is good to see that City are scouring the market for talent and some interesting names have been linked with the club but it appears that it will be a hard task to bring in the right sort of player so Potters fans should not be holding their breaths just yet concerning new signings.

Next on the agenda is Reading at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday and there are no fresh injury worries ahead of the game.
