With trips to Tottenham and Manchester United as two of their three remaining games after Saturday, it is surely imperative for Ian Holloway's side to get something out of this match.

Easier said than done as Blackpool have the worst home record in the Premier League - but perhaps they can be inspired by the statue of Jimmy Armfield, which will be unveiled at Bloomfield Road this weekend, 40 years after he made his last appearance for the club.

Armfield played alongside Sir Stanley Matthews, whose other major club Stoke are the visitors on Saturday. Sir Stanley will forever be associated with the 1953 FA Cup final and Blackpool will be hoping Stoke's thoughts wander towards their own trip to Wembley next month.

MATCH FACTS

Head-to-head

• Blackpool have not beaten Stoke at home in the league since 1964, a run of 10 matches.

• Stoke have won four of the last five league meetings at Bloomfield Road.

Blackpool

• Blackpool have won just one of their last 14 league matches (beating Tottenham 3-1 at home in February). They have lost 12 of their 17 Premier League games since the turn of the year and have the worst home record in the top flight.

• No side has kept a clean sheet in 17 league matches at Bloomfield Road this season, including Blackpool. The Tangerines are on course to match Chelsea's record of 19 matches in 1960/61.

• The Tangerines earned 25 points from their opening 17 league matches of the season; but only nine points from their last 17.

• Blackpool have let in 15 goals in the last 10 minutes of league games this season, more than any other top-flight side.

Stoke

• The Potters have not won away from home in 2011 and have picked up just one point in their eight away matches this year.

• Kenwyne Jones could become the first Stoke player to score in four consecutive Premier League matches.

• Stoke have not lost a league match in which they opened the scoring (W9, D4).

• Rory Delap is poised to make his 150th league appearance for Stoke.
