Ade Akinibiyi has been linked with a move away from Stoke City previously but this became particuarly more evident when he released a statement on his web-site yesterday.
Today, Sky Sports ran an article linking Ade Akinbiyi to comments that Paul Jewell made to them. He said: ''I'm waiting for the phone to ring''.
''I spoke to a manager last night and he said he'd get back to me with a price.''
Wigan Athletic cannot confirm who that player is but can confirm that having not heard from a particular club for a week, they gained correspondance finally to the team manager who said that he would speak to his chairman this morning (friday) and get back to them with a price tag.
The spokesman for Wigan Athletic did confirm that he hadn't heard Ade's name mensioned at the ground but Jewell wouldn't mension his transfer targets to anybody. He added that Jewell has not even suggested what position the player is that he has bidded for.
