County are now in a much better position than they once were, deep in the slums of administration. They appear to have been saved by Raj Bhatia, a pilot and Frank Strang, a businessman from Scotland.

I spoke to Notts County MAD Co-Editor Tom Loakes:

"Notts fans will be hoping for a much better season this time around, after the problems of the past year or so they deserve it. With Clive Platt, Steve Jenkins, Tony Barras and Simon Baldry set to sign before the seasons start at Bristol City on August 9th, it will be the first time Notts have signed a player for well over a year." Said Loakes

"Mark Stallard and Paul Heffernan are likely to lead the frontline, and with the deadly duo always likely to score, Billy Dearden will hopefully bring in a few defenders to cover the losses of players that have been released over the summer months. This season I think many Notts fans would take a season of consolidation after the off the field matters of the last year, but, if Dearden can swoop for a few more signings, a playoff place may well not be out of the question!

"I was surprised that you got dragged into the drop zone last year, I thought following promotion you would have pushed on, because there is massive potential at Stoke City. I think you will have a better season this time around, Pulis has made some good signings in Clint Hill and Gifton Noel Williams.

"Pulis seems have to have done a good job, although I understand he wasn't a favourite when first appointed."
