"The saga has been going on for 2 or 3 months now im delighted that its finally done and dusted" said the new City Hitman.

"The major points coming here was obviously Tony, and how well I got on with the fans last time round. It was a gamble last season, but they supported me straight away and i was delighted.

"I've been doing alot of running but I need match fitness now because its different from just running. I just want to be part of the team whether I start or i'm on the bench I want to be part of the team.

"Alot of players still believe we can reach the playoffs and I believe we could too. It's gonna take us time to gel together but if we believe in ourselves then we can move ourselves up the table"

Akinbiyi is expected to start on the bench on his debut on tuesday night against Sunderland.
