The defender's contract ends at the end of the season and their have reportedly been many premiership clubs tracking him.

"We've just started talking now so hopefully we can resolve it in the next couple of weeks," said Halls.

"I'm happy at the moment and the sooner it's sorted out the better."

His goal proved the winner on saturday and he has now scored 2 in the first 3 games of the season.

"The ball just dropped in the box," he said, "and I thought I had to hit it first time.

"Top scorer for Stoke, who would believe it?!"

"I'm a bit of an unlikely source of goals, but it's a big bonus. I think I've just got a bit lucky in those last two games.

"Mind you, I score for fun in training. I'm unbelievable on the training field, but those are the first two goals on the pitch."

Halls has played every game this season after an injury put him out for much of the season last time round.

"I'm enjoying it", he added "because even though we lost at Leicester and only drew 0-0 with Sheffield Wednesday, we have played good football.

"The boys are buzzing after this result against Millwall - and my own fitness is getting better and better with every game. I'm getting back to 100 per cent."
