Stoke and Walters have been linked throughtout the summer, although Ipswich insist no official approach has been made. The speculation was fuelled by Walters' spending time away from Suffolk during the latter stages of his wife's pregnancy, although he did start in tonight's cup match against Leyton Orient. It looks as though another City target may not be heading to the Britannia Stadium after all.
In other news the club have released the squad numbers for the coming season with the majority of last season's players retaining their numbers, including Steve Simonsen at number one, and there is still a squad number for Dominic Matteo. The club have also announced that they will be having sponsors logos on baldes of grass next season to take advantage of Sky's HD technology.
