12 Months Ago Today: Championship Midfielder On Potters Radar

Last updated : 26 July 2011 By Dan Buxton

Reports are growing linking Stoke with a £4m move for Portsmouth's Ghanain star man Kevin Prince-Boateng.

Prince-Boateng, who was one of the stars of the recent World Cup, was one of the few shining lights for Pompey last season but the sides relegation, and perilious financial situation means the Southerners have to sell and City boss Tony Pulis is an admirer of the playmakers attributes.

Stoke are looking for creativity in the middle of the park after only Wolves scored less goals than the Potters during last seasons Premier League.

Boateng joined Portsmouth from Tottenham and has become a firm fans favourite, although he missed a penalty in last seasons FA Cup final.
