Oxley began his career at Rotherham and was promoted to the club’s first team in the 07/08 season after attracting attention from larger clubs. In 2008 Oxley joined Hull City for £150,000 shortly after their promotion to the Premier League.

Oxley became a regular in Hull’s youth a reserve teams before joining Walsall in late 2009, staying at the club for just a month and failing to make a single first team appearance. A few months later in February 2010 Oxley joined Grimsby Town on a one month loan, unlike his spell at Walsall, Oxley went straight into the first team although he was later moved to the bench to make way for returning keeper Nick Colgan. Oxley returned to Grimsby in April 2010 on an emergency 7 day loan and played to in 2 first team games for the club.

Since Hull’s relegation from the Premier League and Boaz Myhill’s transfer to West Brom, Oxley has now become City’s second-choice keeper and is awaiting his first team opportunity as a regular match-day substitute.
