The tricky and electric winger is another product of the ever producing West Ham academy. In May 2006, Reid made his first team debut for the Hammers when he featured in the 1-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion.
Although Reid did show a lot of promise for the future, he was sent out on-loan to four different clubs over the next three seasons. Ideally he would gain valuable experience in the Championship and return a better player. However, in November 2008, Reid was out celebrating his 21st birthday with friends.  The night turned sour as a large gang fight erupted in the streets of London. Two people were hurt in the incident including one male being stabbed in the neck. Reid did get his career back on track. In January 2009 he joined Wolves on loan. His first and only goal for the championship side came away at one of his former clubs, Barnsley. The goal itself ensured Wolves went up to the Premiership as Champions.
On July 1st, 2009, Kyel Reid joined Championship side Sheffield United on a free transfer. Since his move he has played in all of their pre-season matches and even managed to get on the score sheet against Bury.
